It is 2miles wide.

A = length x width
Plug in the information that you know:

1 1/2 = 3/4w

Get "w" by itself by dividing by 3/4

1 1/2 divided by 3/4 is 2.

Check you answer by plugging it into the formula "area = length x width."

1 1/2 = 3/4 • 2
1 1/2 = 1 1/2
