If f(x) = x + 2, find the value of x if f(x) = 12.

Hello,

Let's plug in "12" for "f(x)" since they tell us:
12 = x +2.

Now, in order to get "x" by itself, we add 2 to each sides:
12 +2 = x, which then becomes x = 14.
