Solution

for this case we can do the following:

[tex]|2x+6|-3=13[/tex]

We can add 3 in both sides and we got:

[tex]|2x+6|=16[/tex]

then we have two alternatives:

1)

2x +6= -16

2x= -22

x= -11

2)

2x+6= 16

2x =10

x= 5

then the two solutions are:

x= -11 and x= 5
