1) get the denominators to be the same:
78/9x5= 390/45. 53/5x9= 477/45.

2)subtract the fractions:
390/45 - 477/45= 87/45

3)find the highest common denominator:
common denominator: 3
87/3= 29
45/3= 15

answer: 29/15
